I see what you're saying, and largely agree, but on the other hand, why do this with a separate accessory that would add to the cost of a game, when so many people will have Kinect? I do agree that most of these demos people are doing are useless, but perhaps they will spark ideas that are useful.

So, you want co-op so that you don't have to play as someone who's short?

I can't speak for Washington-Capitals, but I took it that he was referring to Fallout: New Vegas. That is a recent game that is known for having tons of glitches.

Or maybe you were just saying that KZ2 was pretty polished, so they can now work on the extras?

It is.

Maybe the animation just doesn't match up with what the player is doing. Certainly wouldn't be the first game to have that issue.

I take it split-screen isn't officially announced, though? I don't care anything about this until it is officially announced.

I think Move has a lot of potential, but really needs some software that shows off that potential. Sports Champions seems good (I've only played the demo) and Tumble is a very convincing tech demo for Move, but nothing that shows its full potential yet. Sorcery will be a good one, but throw move functionality into a new Elder Scrolls for both fighting and just manipulating items and you've got a winner.

Have you seen that Move tech demo with the dummy that you can slash with a sword and pick up and move around with a "levitation force" as they called it? Dollars to donuts, they made that demo specifically to show to Lucasarts.

To an extent you're right, but I think it was wise business to, at least temporarily, ignore their base. If they had worked on their core audience and released a bunch of core games, then Kinect would have gained the image of another "gamer" device and scared away casuals.

By focusing on the casual audience, it gives them a clean slate image-wise. Casual users can buy Kinect without being scared away by "Halo" or "Call of Duty" (just exampl...

I don't see this particular use being, um... useful for any game, but Kinect certainly has potential for augmented reality applications. Augmented reality hasn't exactly exploded in popularity, though, so we'll have to see.

Stuff like this has been around for years. You know those soap dispensers that are touch-free? I'm not knocking Kinect here, just saying that this is a useless hack that only accomplishes something that has been done for a long time by much simpler devices.

Far from "revolutionary".

And quickscopers sure do like their version of "stroking".

Is it a hyperbolic sine (sinh)?

If Kinect has sold 2.5 million in 25 days, that's 100,000 units a day on average. Move has been on the market since mid-September. In order to have beat the pace of Kinect, it would have had to sell over 7 million units by now. This article is about being the FASTEST selling device, remember.

In my opinion, Move is the better overall product, but Kinect has caught people's attention better.

LBP2 is compatible with old LBP levels. The updated graphics engine will even make the old levels look a little better.

3D would have really added to that "diorama" feel. Like the levels really are made up of things people just found laying around that they glued together.

Maybe you're right. That would make sense, but it does depend upon the idea that all those people own both systems, otherwise, whatever the reason, xbox owners just prefer shooters more than PS3 owners. I have always said that Xbox draws shooter fans because of Halo. Xbox live certainly has been a draw for online shooter fans.

@ dkgshiz: I think most people consider GTA to be of the "sandbox" genre. Certianly shooting is a major part of the action, but it ...

Of the top ten selling Xbox 360 games, eight of them are shooters. Halo and CoD take six of those spots, Gears of War takes the other two. The two that aren't shooters are GTA IV, and Forza 2.

I think it's safe to say that the 360's "attach rate" for shooters is pretty high. They're not the only thin...

...Sony could very well - and probably would - have internal people testing this in the field. Those people would not be showing it off because they would lose their job if they did.

Remember how the iPhone 4 got leaked? One of Apple's people left it laying around somewhere before it was announced.

I do totally agree, though, that without showing something more substantive, this video is a waste of time.

For fitness games, my question is always this: How would a fitness expert, not a video game reviewer, rate it? The people who make a living reviewing video games are not qualified to rate a fitness product. Do movie reviewers rate workout DVD's? No.

This review seems reasonable, I just would trust a review from a fitness expert more.

1: Shooting down a dropship with a binocular airstrike (nets you a gold trophy if i recall correctly)

2: While on foot, going "toe-to-toe" with a warhawk and shooting it down with my assault rifle.

3: Shooting down a warhawk with the tank's cannon (hard to do since those buggers move faster than the turret, also another gold trophy).

Haven't played the game in a couple years, but i did have a lot of fun with it. Bad thing f...
